Man-luggage

My date actually called me back, after what I felt was a total disaster of an evening. He said he enjoyed the time we spent talking, most of it spent running (no pun intended) to the bathroom, and would like to see me again over the holidays. This is where my condition generally kicks in and I start losing interest. Why is this man calling me? Is he desperate? Don't get me wrong, a very successful and attractive man, but I think there may be someone better out there. I'm thinking I'll spend time with my family and hangout with friends, then I'll see if I have any interest in getting together with this man. My family will say I'm acting crazy, again, and persuade me to take another date, but I'll tell them to mind their own business and carry on in my usual Lisa fashion. I'm only 25 and in no rush to settle down with a husband. It's hard enough lugging my makeup and jewelery around, how on earth would I handle man-luggage?

I'm not entirely clear why, if you're only 25, your family is having any say in your love life?

But... if you like him - take a chance :)

lose the freak! if that date was with me, you wouldn't get another look in! you need to find someone who's too good for you, and make their lives hell.

Svasti: Thank you! I totally agree. As if I need their advice.

Bulldog: hehehe! This is an excellent approach.

Hmmmm, having gone on many many dates with losers all my life until I found my one and only winner...I say just have fun!

Date like crazy! And always be the one that can walk away, that way YOU have control!

Sounds like the evening was at least partially ruined by lavatorial necessities...but the guy didn't seem to have a sense of humor about it.

First impressions are often misleading though; When I first met my better half I was sitting across the table in a pub with a large group, talking to a couple of lads about a recent game of paintball in which I'd got fairly splattered and done some splatting in return. She couldn't hear the conversation and thought I'd genuinely shot someone! Thankfully we cleared up the little misunderstanding and 13 years later we are still together.

I think a lot of people these days don't understand the value of being alone and comfortable in your own company. Being alone is not the same as being lonely and if someone isnt comfortable in their own company, how can they be comfortable with anyone else?

I'll shut up now :-)

I agree with Svasti (and I usually do). Go out. Have fun. No strings...just laughs!

Any man that you tell you got the shits and still calls is a keeper, I say go for it. There is no ring or luggage involved, go have fun!

I'm thinking that you are having the same issue as me? You're just not feeling it? If that is the case I say cut him loose now, don't wait til he falls for you. That's just my thought, not like I have heeded my own advice, yet.-V

It doesn't matter how old you are. If you're not interested, you're not interested. Unless you are indeed a weirdo, but how the hell would I know that? We've only just met!

Just so long as you don't suddenly feel desperate and your biological clock is ticking and you end up marrying in a rush or settling. GAWD, don't do that either!

So, unless you're a freak, someone will come along and sweep you off your feet. Even if it's not for another 10 or 20 years.

Don't make yourself miserable to make everyone else happy.

This is very valid.....I can see how a girl would think that. Now for a guy...i guess we would say we deal with shit all day at work...why would we want to deal with shit at home....

But I'm not that condemning....I think females have their place. A special girl will have a place in my life....sooner or later. Hopefully by 30.
